2025 Young Artist Program Applications
Opening Soon!
The Young Artist Program facilitates creative attunement for youth 18–26, where social connection emerges naturally from brave participation, not engineered outcomes. Through a 4–8 week Reels series featuring demo lessons and songwriting insights from books like The Music Technology Cookbook and The Artist’s Way, alongside in-person workshops, students engage with loopers, curated prompts, peer support, and local ATX collaborators to develop selfhood and songwriting skills.
The program provides culturally effective guidance for underserved youth, while nourishing the next generation of Austin songwriters and creating pathways to community and understanding.
The Song Rise Sessions is an artfully curated concert celebrating Austin-based nationally emerging acts such as Latin indie-pop artists Luna Luna and Midnight Navy and the incredible rapper Blakchyl.
It’s also a showcase featuring young artists each performing an original song. These performances are the culmination of Song Rise Art’s THRIVE Mentorship Program, which provides songwriting classes, mentorship, access to industry professionals, recording experience, performance opportunities and barrier-eliminating support such as stipends
“Song Rise Arts impacted my life by making me understand there is a story being told in every song. A story that comes from experience and results in wisdom…The program helped me feel comfortable calling myself a musician and opened me up more as a person.” - Ryan (Young Artist Program Student)
"Song Rise Arts provided a creative outlet and a sense of accomplishment that boosted my self-esteem and confidence. Songwriting is a powerful emotional outlet, allowing me to express myself in ways that words may not be able to...I learned about discipline, creativity, collaboration, emotion, and beauty. It was a transformative experience that helped me become more well-rounded and fulfilled." - Quiana (Thrive Mentoring Program Student and Peer Support Specialist)
